Description

Reboot is an Android mobile app that is centered on discovering, sharing, and reviewing video games. Our main goal is to build a friendly social media app where people can write and share their opinions on games in the vein of Letterboxd. Our main intended audience for this project is gamers of whom there are over 2 billion people across the world who play some type of game monthly. Reboot offers a way for these people to keep up with new games, share their thoughts on games they played see what their friends have played, and read reviews from others. In the same way people use Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes for movie reviews we imagine Reboot can offer a similar experience when it comes to games.

Our core functionality will be a home page where you can browse new and popular games. To retrieve game information we are using the RAWR API which stores information on over 500,000 video games. A search feature to look up any game, a profile feature to display liked games, and your user profile info including the friend system.

The friend system will allow users to add friends, and see friends’ profile information. Another core feature will be the review system which allows people to write reviews for games and read reviews left by other people as well.
